Intriguing Information

Intriguing information came in the mail Saturday via my UU World magazine. I haven't had time to read it yet, but just quickly glancing through it, I noticed an article on polyamory as well as a book in the back by a UU author about the Tao of Tarot. Doesn't that sound interesting? Tao and Tarot.. two of my favorite things!
The Tao of Tarot: "The Way", to Health, Happiness and Spiritual Illumination Through Qigong Dreaming.
by: Christina Bjergo, member of the UU Church of Vancouver, Wash.
There was also an article about UUers doing social justice in Uganda to save Gays & Lesbians from being imprisoned or worse.
This is the kind of thing that I could really get involved in. It is also the kind of thing that scares me to death. I might not be afraid to go to rural Colorado, but Uganda amps the whole idea WAY up. I am old enough to remember the Rwanda Genocide of 1995, and even though Rwanda and Uganda are different countries, they will be forever linked in my mind because one of my hero's growing up was Dian Fossey, and the Mountain Gorillas which she studied freely move between Rwanda, Uganda and Congo. Clearly, they could care less about human-created borders.
Because of the Rwanda Genocide, and because of what happened to Dian Fossey, I have a certain phobia about going to any of those countries... even though I would LOVE to see real Mountain Gorillas in the wild! I can envision all kinds of horrors being visited upon me there, as it is virtually impossible for me to "pass".
Still, Tarot, polyamory, and Gay Rights in Uganda... all things that I can be very passionate about... I need to read that magazine!
